More Than has become the latest insurer to offer drivers a discount on their car insurance, if they use a safe driving telematics system.
An app called More Than Drive promises to reward customers with up to 20 per cent off their car insurance. It is designed for experienced drivers and can be downloaded free of charge on iPhones and Android devices.
A person’s driving style is analysed for 200 miles and feedback is offered after each journey on how to become a safer driver.
Drivers are then offered a discount of up to 20 per cent, generated on factors such as acceleration, braking and speed. This can then be applied to any new car insurance quote received through the app.
Motor director Matt Pernet said: “Drivers want to be rewarded for being safe and are also looking for ways to cut the cost of driving. The launch of More Than Drive enables us to do both.”
He added that this “simple phone app” has been designed for those experienced drivers who are often put off by the idea of having a black box in their car.
