Home insurance response vehicle deployed by Halifax

Halifax has deployed its rapid response vehicle to assist home insurance customers affected by flooding in the Todmorden area.

It was sent out after heavy downpours drenched parts of West Yorkshire and will be used to enable people to seek flooding advice easily and conveniently.

The vehicle is being employed as a temporary office for personal claims consultants and allows these professionals to call in on customers impacted by the extreme weather.

By doing so, the experts can assess the damage caused by the storms and judge whether or not homeowners will need any other form of support or alternative accommodation .

Martyn Foulds, Halifax Home Insurance’s senior claims manager, explained the real response vehicle will bring many benefits for both householders and businesses struggling to cope following the rainfall.

Mr Foulds stated: “Whether they need to register a claim, or just drop in for a cup of tea and a chat, we are there to support them.”

He observed flooding can be the source of much distress for homeowners, meaning it is essential support reaches them speedily and efficiently.
