As winter approaches and weather forecasters predict another cold winter, a broken boiler, plumbing leak, or urgent roof repair can put severe and unexpected pressure on finances .
Budget home insurance is now offering its customers a new Home Emergency Assistance (HEA) product that protects them in the event of an emergency and because the policy is a rolling contract, not an agreement for a 12 month period, there is greater control and flexibility.
The HEA policy delivers a three-way helpline which ensures that a specific appointment time is agreed with the tradesperson, that they understand the problem before arrival and this then enables them to bring any relevant parts to the first appointment. The policy covers major areas of home repairs, including plumbing and gas, gas and electrical, heating, roofing, security and pests . Currently, the first three months’ of cover from the insurer are free.
Andy Bord, Managing Director of Budget Insurance, said: “HEA pays up to £500 per claim, including parts, labour, material and VAT, when an emergency repair is needed and because it’s an open contract, customers are covered for as long as they want to be.”
