It is important that drivers in the UK are open and honest with their insurance company about all on-road incidents that might affect their premium.
This is according to a spokeswoman from Admiral Group – launched in 1993 as a single brand – who recommended motorists relay all information to their providers whenever they are involved in any form of collision behind the wheel.
Looking at how some people may be a little naive about the way in which their own errors might impact their plans, the representative explained accident claims are looked at either from a fault or non-fault viewpoint – but this classification does not always correlate to whether or not the crash came as a result of a driver’s error.
Indeed, a fault accident could relate to a number of instances, such as when a motorist has lost concentration or slid off-course after travelling over an icy stretch of road.
The industry figure pointed out: “Such instances will affect your insurance premium and you must tell your insurance company of any incident so they can accurately calculate the price you pay.”
