A representative from Clydesdale Bank insurance has warned how determined burglars can often break into houses despite many active security measures.
Steve Reid, retail director at the firm, suggests it is sensible for people to take precautions to prevent burglaries from happening, however they should be aware that sometimes the criminal may manage to get into their property .
His comments come after research by Clydesdale Bank insurance revealed that around one in four houses in the UK do not have home contents insurance . Mr Reid said: “Adequate home contents insurance can’t stop the crime from happening, but it can ease the burden should the worst happen. Double-deadlocks, outdoor sensor lights and window locks are some of the best deterrents against burglars.”
Recently, Clydesdale Bank celebrated winning the best new banknote series and best public education awards ahead of participants from over 75 countries at the International Association of Currency Affairs Conference.
