With a growing trend of taking just one holiday in the summer months instead of several short-haul holidays a year, millions of Brits may be paying too much for their travel insurance policies.
According to research conducted by Defaqto, Brits with annual insurance policies could be losing money if they are among those who go on single trips this year.
Head of insight at Defaqto, Brian Brown, explained: “Consumers may be better off with single trip insurance, rather than paying extra for annual cover.” Mr Brown added that for most consumers, taking just one overseas trip a year will mean that purchasing a single trip policy makes more sense.
Recently, AA Travel Insurance have said that those who leave taking out their travel policies until the last minute risk losing out on the best deals. A poll carried out by the firm revealed that 50 per cent of Brits fall into this category.
