The price comparison website moneysupermarket.com is offering a few tips to drivers which it claims could save them as much as £1,623 on car insurance per year.
The tips include shopping around for the best deal based on individual circumstances and increasing the voluntary excess on policies from £100 to £500. Moneysupermarket.com also says that younger drivers can reduce the price of their car insurance premiums considerably by adding an older driver to the same policy and that many people can save some money by putting their partner on the same insurance policy .
Andy Leadbetter, managing director of insurance at moneysupermarket.com, said: “At a time when we are all reviewing our finances, outgoings can be trimmed by shopping around and taking several other easy steps to further reduce premiums.”
Recently, a survey conducted by Gocompare.com found that sorting out personal finances is the most popular New Year’s resolution for 2009.
