Six in ten Brits say they will happily snack on witchetty grubs, cockroaches, snakes and grasshoppers when they are on holiday, according to Norwich Union Travel research.
The favourite treat of the nations ‘bush tuckers’ can be found Down Under, as 47 per cent of them say they like eating kangaroo.
Roo meat is followed by snake (36 per cent) and guinea pig (23 per cent) as the culinary delights most enjoyed by British travellers.
Other snacks in the top ten include grasshoppers, ants, fish eyes and meal worms.
Many travellers say they are happy to forego creature comforts like deodorant and showers (47 per cent) and toilet paper (27 per cent).
Underwear is also overrated, according to a third of men and a fifth of women who say they are happy to go without it when travelling.
However, Norwich Union Travel is warning Britons taking a walk on the wild side to not embark on their adventures without ensuring they have adequate travel insurance in place.
The travel insurance company, part of the country’s largest insurance company, offers its travel insurance policyholders additional travel services like car hire and commission-free travel money.
