A company that was founded near Blackpool with just six staff has announced it will add 100 new positions – bringing its total workforce number to 600.
AI Claims Solutions, which is part of the Quindell group, will take on the personnel after it won a number of high profile contracts earlier in 2013, according to the Blackpool Gazette.
New clients include the RAC, Honda and Renault and this means that there is plenty of space for the firm to expand into in the coming years.
This news will come as a massive boost to Blackpool, which has suffered from high rates of unemployment for decades following a previous tourism boom that lasted until the 1990s.
Jill Harrison, Chief Human Resources Officer, Quindell Services, told the Gazette: “We are delighted to announce a further 100 job opportunities in Blackpool to support the growing demand for our insurance services offering.”
However, all of the jobs will be relatively low paid call centre roles and some campaigners have criticised the lack of experience given to people working in these positions – especially given high rates of turnover seen in the sector.
