Sheffield insurers raise money for charity

Staff at the Westfield Health insurance company in Sheffield have raised £1,500 for a number of national charities.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Cancer Research and British Heart Foundation were among charities benefiting from the fundraising drive by members of the company’s insurance staff.

Numerous activities over the last few months have taken place to increase funding for the foundations, including fancy dress, carol singing and baking competitions, which sweet-toothed staff members were particularly keen on.

Male staff members took part in the Movember scheme where facial hair is either left to grow, or trimmed in an unusual style in order to to garner charitable donations from family or friends. Money from this particular drive went to Sheffield’s Cathedral Archer Project, Children in Need, Comic Relief and Prostate Cancer UK.

Heather Bamford, chair of Westfield Health’s Employee Community Group said: “We have some very dedicated and brave fundraising volunteers who aren’t afraid of being the first one to be in fancy dress or the first one to start singing the carols at Christmas.”

Westfield Health offers private medical insurance solutions to businesses or individuals.
