Confused.com has launched a travel insurance scheme that aims to provide a solution to individuals deemed ineligible for standard cover due to medical reasons.
The price comparison site unveiled a new service that enables those with a pre-existing medical complaint to easily locate a deal by weighing up the options provided by different companies.
As part of the new portal, customers will have the opportunity to select their particular condition and be presented with arrangements that are only suited to them.
Kate Rose, head of travel insurance at the site, said: “We understand that not everyone has a perfect medical record and that shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying travel as much as anyone else.”
Ms Rose explained many individuals are tempted not to disclose their minor complaints for fear their premiums may be driven up as a consequence of them being considered most likely to stake a claim.
She pointed out, however, that such issues need to be highlighted to providers as insurers will void any arrangements if they find out such problems have been hidden.
