Owners can select the pet insurance that best fits their animal and budget, it has been noted.
Rob Swyer, business development director at Pets at Home, explained different four-legged friends have various health care needs and claimed a one-size-fits-all approach is not the best way to look at this type of protection.
He observed cats and dogs do not always suffer from the same conditions and therefore require varying levels of veterinary cover.
The comments come as Pets at Home announced it has launched its pet insurance exclusively at GoCompare.
Mr Swyer stated many providers offer “a generic pet policy that can cover a cat or a dog, but as a business of pet experts we understand that different pets have different health care needs”.
As part of the Pets at Home offering, people will have the opportunity to choose from four policies, which it hopes will give individuals a wide selection that enables them to make savings.
Mr Swyer added these policies have been designed with the needs of the customer firmly in mind.
