Overseas holiday homeowners get more support with expanded landlord insurance policy

British Insurance, the online independent insurance provider, has expanded its portfolio to provide policies to people who have overseas and UK holiday homes .

According to British Insurance, its new product range gives extensive cover and support services, for which people may have to pay additional costs with other providers. Included in the range is a ‘pass the phone’ multi-lingual interpretation service that provides a 24-hour English-speaking support for overseas homeowners .

The company says its home emergency cover insurance guarantees a response within two hours for heating system or electrical failures. There is also a team available to unblock drains, source and repair internal leaks and replace locks and glazing where necessary. Also, those left to manage empty properties on behalf of owners have the choice of three, six, nine or 12-month insurance periods for unoccupied property insurance cover .

Managing director, Nel Mooy, said: ” Insurers must make their policies easy to understand, accessible and affordable. These latest low-cost additions underline our commitment to do this on a wider scale.”
