Home insurance customers looking to carry out maintenance on their properties in the coming months may benefit from recent advice from More Than .
The provider has warned homeowners in areas affected by the recent heavy winds to take measures to protect their homes, particularly those living in Scotland.
With 100 mph gusts sweeping the nation yesterday (December 8th), residents have been urged to park their car in a garage and ensure all windows and doors are properly closed.
Additionally, guttering and roof tiles around the home should be monitored to make sure they are securely attached and are not in danger of flying off in the wind.
Mark Christer, managing director of personal lines at More Than, said: “Our team … will be on hand 24/7 to help homeowners that may be impacted and our emergency response team is on standby to deal with any claims as they arise.”
Home insurance provider Aviva also gave similar advice to its customers, recommending they contact their provider immediately after the storm if their home is damaged.
