A quarter of Brits travel without insurance

Summer is certainly here and many Britain’s will be venturing off on holiday. However, it has been revealed that almost a quarter of Brits will be or have planned to go on holiday without travel insurance.

More shockingly, out of the survey 33% of those questioned suggested that travel insurance is not necessary whilst 22% commented that the cost of insuring yourself for a holiday is just too expensive.

The survey did not just indicate attitudes towards travel insurance but revealed numerous factors that affect the holiday habits of British tourists.

As you have probably already guessed almost 55% of those surveyed indicated they would not take a holiday this year due to the economic crisis . This is obviously not surprising considering the numerous companies that have liquidated leaving holiday makers stranded.

In line with the economy, 47% of people said they would not spend as much money on holiday simply because of the economic downturn.
