Boiler repair insurance costs increase by 13 per cent

The average cost of boiler breakdown cover has increased by 13 per cent over the last year and most breakdown insurance costs 20 percent more now, according to uSwitch .

Taking out this type of cover is still considered to be a cost effective way to safeguard against unexpected boiler repair or replacement bills, especially for those who would struggle to meet these bills otherwise.

While sensible cutbacks such as delaying switching the heating on and turning the temperature down slightly will help save money without any serious side effects, going without boiler cover could leave you in a very difficult position financially if your boiler packs up.”
