Group risk benefits are very important to employees and it is therefore not unexpected to find that companies will do all they can to keep offering them, a representative from Aviva Insurance has commented.
Douglas Wright, principal clinical consultant for Aviva Health, indicated that it demonstrates the value of such perks that firms continue to provide them, even in a difficult economic climate. He said: “Not many people are getting rid of them or seriously downgrading them in any way; they are absolutely holding on to them and taking other tough business decisions to allow them to do that.”
Mr Wright added as well as being important to the employer to be able to offer such benefits, they are also highly valued by the employee. These remarks were made in response to research by Aviva insurance, which showed that 51 per cent of companies offer at least one group risk to workers.
