Aviva has announced that it is making some changes to its Professional Office policy in order to better meet the needs of the professional services sector.
Following feedback from brokers and policyholders, the changes mean that a number of business interruption features that were previously optional will now automatically be covered in the Professional Office policy, including a number of new benefits.
The business interruption extensions will now incorporate loss of revenue due to damage to a nearby property, which prevents access for customers to the insured premises. In addition, customers will be automatically covered against the accidental failure of water, gas and electricity supplies. Changes to policy extensions also allow for loss of revenue if there is any disruption to telecommunication services.
Further, the revised policy extensions provide protection from a number of other potential disasters such as if essential personnel are incapacitated and unable to work, Aviva will cover the necessary expense to prevent any reduction in turnover as a result.
