Tesco has announced that it is launching three new levels of cover, which it says will give customers more flexibility.
Basic health insurance from the company covers operations and procedures and this includes the costs of surgery and of cancer treatments like chemotherapy or radiotherapy, as well as the cost of treatments that require an overnight hospital stay.
In addition, customers will now have the option of adding one of two additional levels of cover. Policyholders of Consultations and Tests will also be covered for specific diagnostic tests and referrals to specialists.
The top level of cover, called Additional Therapies, includes treatments such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care and acupuncture .
Jeremy Sutton, head of Tesco Health Insurance said: “We have launched these new levels of cover in response to feedback, which told us that customers wanted flexibility and choice, with a range of options, to suit their needs.”
