An insurance firm is advising Brits who will be going on a caravan holiday this summer to ensure that their valuables are sufficiently covered before they set off.
According to esure, UK caravan parks have predicted that there will be two million more of the mobile vehicles parking up in Britain this summer. The firm is warning those planning a caravan holiday this year to make sure they examine their cancellation cover in case of a postponed trip and look up which items may, or may not be protected by home insurance .
Caravanners are also being urged to consider adding personal possessions to their home insurance cover as this would see them receive compensation for items if they are stolen while they are on the move.
Mike Pickard, head of risk and underwriting at esure, said: “Whether you need to cancel your caravan site booking or make a claim following a theft, having the appropriate insurance will make for a happier and more hassle-free caravanning holiday .”
