According to a recent study by Fairinvestment.co.uk, as many as 50 per cent of drivers in the UK make cost the number one priority when they are shopping for a car insurance policy . The level of cover, the study found, was only priority for one in five motorists.
The cost of driving, with fuel prices rising not to mention vehicle excise duty going up, is meaning many Brits aim for the cheapest cover possible. Cutting costs is priority for many households in the UK, as the credit crunch and rising mortgage repayments impact on household budgets.
Speaking on behalf of Fairinvestment.co.uk, James Caldwell reportedly commented: “Motorists should be careful choosing their car insurance by price alone. The cheapest car insurance is not always the best and there are other aspects to be taken into consideration. I would advise anybody shopping for car insurance to compare deals not just on price but also policy features, some of which may be outlined in the small print.”
