British dogs are at risk of putting on nearly half a stone in weight over the festive period, which could see them developing a number of serious illnesses including arthritis, diabetes and liver disease according to pet insurer MORE THAN .
The insurer is warning pet owners of the dangers of treating their dogs to chocolates, leftovers from the Christmas turkey and uneaten mince pies, which can result in more problems for dogs than a little extra around the belly.
