Quick-pages is a new directory which has put together insurers’ free phone numbers, giving consumers the chance to compare quotes from up to 16 providers . It is being sent to homes as a mail shot by the The Direct Marketing Group and will be targeting people whose car or home insurance is due for renewal.
The internet is being used more than ever to buy cheaper insurance quotes, but buying insurance online is not always straightforward and can be very time consuming. Providers can provide discounts of up to 10 per cent by buying online, but Liverpool Victoria, the UK’s largest friendly society, claims it can work out cheaper by phone.
The company says the consumer will be better able to get exactly what they need as online quotes can include extras such as a courtesy car which may not be required. Existing LV customers will also be able to get a discount, which will not be able if buying online.
