New dental insurance from Denplan

Denplan have launched a new dental insurance policy aimed at children and young people. The policy has been designed specifically with the oral health needs of young people in mind. The programme is a unique concept in child dentistry in the UK.

Called the Excel accreditation Programme for Children and Young people, the programme forces patients to evaluate how they measure child dental health, as well as providing a better understanding of oral health for parents, children and healthcare staff.

Denplan have developed the process incorporating advice from experts, and aim to provide a simple, effective service. In doing so, the dental insurance company recognise that children have different healthcare needs to adults.

The policy includes special features such as the Oral Health Score, and The Oral Wellbeing score. The chief dental officer of Denplan, Dr. Matthews, reportedly commented: “It is vitally important that we work towards improving the oral health of children.”
