eBay, the online auction company, has linked up with insurance provider Norwich Union to launch an online insurance centre for users.
The company claims that the website will give its 15 million users in the UK instant access to the insurance centre.
Users will also be able to use the insurance hub to gain access to information on home insurance , travel insurance and car insurance policies.
Also, insurance quotes and the purchase of policies will be available to users of the service.
Mark Godfrey, Norwich Union, said: “This is the first partnership of its kind and it makes complete sense for Norwich Union, the UK’s largest insurer, to link up with eBay, the nation’s leading online marketplace with its customer base of 15 million users.”
He added that the company was offering eBay’s users “quick and easy access” to insurance information and quotes via the online insurance centre, stating that he was confident that the partnership will “prove to be very successful with eBay’s loyal customer base”.
eBay has become one of the largest sites for online selling in the UK, with users offering products from paperclips to fighter jets.
