The leading UK rural insurance company has announced that it will reward its insurance policyholders for their loyalty.
NFU Mutual will offer discounts of between six and ten per cent on renewal insurance premiums for 2006 to those holding general insurance policies.
Benefits are calculated in terms of how long an insurance policy has been kept with NFU Mutual.
As part of the insurance company’s Mutual Bonus scheme, NFU Mutual has returned almost a third of its profits to members during the last six years.
The insurance company’s group chief executive Ian Geden says he is “delighted” to be able to offer a general insurance discount to members for the seventh year running.
He says Mutual Bonus provides insurance policyholders with a “tangible benefit” of the insurance company’s mutual status.
“Because we are a mutual and do not, therefore, have to pay shareholders, we are able to reward customers who have contributed to our success,” Mr Geden continues.
He points out that since the induction of the scheme in 2000 until the end of this year, over £375 million will have been paid out to insurance policyholders as premium discounts.
Claiming it is committed to those living and working in the countryside, as well as those visiting rural areas, NFU Mutual offers general insurance, life insurance, pensions, investments and risk management services.
