Health insurance provider Bupa is offering Brits a free iPhone app that allows them to quickly check health information while on the move.
The firm has noted that approximately 70 per cent of the UK public use the internet to find the data they need to look after themselves and is hoping to tap into the market by providing the free service.
Its Health Finder app will provide access to Bupa's fact sheets, which cover a variety of conditions and are already accessed by more than 20 million people annually.
The add-on can help Brits search for specialists, hospitals and Bupa sites in their area and provides information on a number of health topics.
Bupa marketing and customer development director Sue Moore explained that everyone should have access to high-quality information that could keep them healthy .
"In addition to the 20 million who already use our health information online each year, we're pleased to offer a version for people to use while on-the-go," she said.
"We are always looking for opportunities to improve our customers' experience, and we're confident that the Health Finder app will help them make the most of their Bupa policy."
In other news, Norton has warned smartphone users that there are too many devices in the UK without security protection against cyber attacks.
