Health insurance provider SimplyHealth has backed a London-based company for its commitment to the wellbeing of its employees.
Softwire Technology was handed a SimplyHealth Healthy Workplace Award to recognise its contribution to looking after its staff.
Spokeswoman for the firm Zoe Cunningham explained that it actively encourages its 60 workers to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve a balance between their jobs and personal lives.
"We provide free eye tests for VDU users and undertake regular workplace risk assessments to ensure staff have the most appropriate work environment for their needs," she said.
"In addition, we provide our employees with free fresh fruit on a daily basis and regularly organise active team building days, most recently taking up the tree top challenge at an outdoor adventure centre ."
SimplyHealth spokesman James Glover added that the award scheme is designed to encourage other firms to take up similar practices adopted by the winners.
In other news, the health insurance provider recently donated more than £3,000 to Home-Start Wakefield and District to help it send needy families on holiday .
