Tesco Bank has joined forces with RSA to provide underwriting and claims management for Tesco Pet Insurance in the UK.
This arrangement will support Tesco Bank's long term growth plans for its pet insurance business by enabling the development of new products and services which will benefit new and existing customers.
Tesco Bank is currently the UK's largest online pet insurance company and insurers 700,000 animals. Existing and future customers of the company's policies will still be offered the same products as the bank begins to change over to RSA in the next 12 months. Benny Higgins, chief executive of Tesco Bank said: "We have ambitious plans to further grow our pet insurance business to develop new products and services that meet our customers' needs."
Recently, the bank announced that it was providing cover for its one millionth animal. The company also found that many of the pets that it provides cover for are named after their owner's favourite tipple.
