Almost a third of UK holidaymakers have been on a health and well-being holiday in the last three years, according to recent research by Post Office Travel Insurance .
As travellers venture on health and wellness holidays for holistic remedies, alternative therapies and beauty treatments, the insurer recommends that, as with any holiday, it’s vital to take out travel insurance to provide additional peace of mind against cancellation or illness.
Spa breaks have been found to be the most popular type of wellness holiday, with 22 per cent of UK travellers choosing this type of break, while others choose holidays which include low impact physical activities to help improve fitness .
Post Office travel insurance advises those not opting for adventure holidays, but travelling either overseas or within the UK on health and wellness holidays to still take out travel insurance so that they are covered against loss or damage while resting and relaxing away from home.
