New health insurance products from PruProtect

PruProtect has rolled out two new health insurance products.

According to the firm, the new products, health cover and health cover optimiser, will help consumers meet their health and protection needs and offer easier access to private medical insurance .

PruProtect policyholders can add health cover to their plan, which pays for the cost of private medical treatment for a variety of conditions including day-to-day treatment, seeing a specialist or having an operation.

Instead of having to buy serious illness cover and health cover separately, they can be combined in one package with a single application form, one direct debit, one and one number to call to make a claim . There is also a 5 per cent discount compared to buying the covers separately.

The products come in three tiers of cover which are comprehensive, primary and heart and cancer cover and all are supported by PruHealth. The firm says the options provide extensive coverage including access to private hospitals and over 7,000 experienced and skilled medical professionals in the UK.
