New customers who buy buildings and contents insurance together from Churchill will receive a 50 per cent discount.
The offer for home insurance is available until the end of May 2009. Head of Churchill home insurance, Martin Scott, commented: "Now more than ever, households can’t afford to go without home insurance. Having home insurance covers you for the incidents you might immediately think of such as floods, burst water pipe or burglary ."
Mr Scott added that additional extras were also available such as legal expenses cover which could provide cover for legal costs for a wide range of circumstances, including employment or redundancy disputes.
It appears that insurance providers are now trying to win business and ensure that people have adequate home insurance cover . Barclays is vying for its share of the market with an offer of half price contents cover for new customers. Also, Norwich Union (soon to be Aviva ) is currently giving free contents cover with its buildings insurance .
