Those rushing abroad on holiday this summer can now book travel insurance within minutes by using a new internet and telephone service from Rias .
The One Click, One Call application process removes the need for multiple phone calls or obtaining a GP record, according to the firm, because customers can give the information and receive a quote for travel insurance in one short session.
Research by Opium showed that 9.9 million over-50s are planning on going abroad this year and Rias has introduced the service in time for the summer rush.
Janet Connor, managing director of Rias, said: "Some people can find obtaining travel insurance difficult, especially if they have pre-existing medical conditions which need to be covered.
"Our innovative One Click, One Call solution gives our customers the ability to purchase a travel insurance policy in one step, covering their specific needs in a matter of minutes."
Saga recently reminded the 32 per cent of over-50s who intend to go on a caravan holiday this summer to make sure that they are adequately covered through their motor insurance .
