A new guide hoping to help motorists save money while on the road has been launched by car insurance firm the AA .
The Money Saving Motorist costs £1.99 and offers advice on choosing the right car, how to maintain it and getting the most out of fuel while on a budget.
Research by the car insurance provider shows that 83 per cent of all travel costs go towards buying and running a family vehicle and households looking to save on these outgoings during the recession will be able to receive tips from the new guide.
Edmund King, AA president, said: "By following the advice in this guide motorists can learn not only how to drive more economically but also some key tips on choosing the right car for their lifestyle, saving money on insurance and some basic maintenance that will help make your car more efficient."
A recent survey of the car insurance market by Defaqto found that those looking for a policy are getting confused by the hundreds of different options available.
