NFU Mutual voted best car insurer for third consecutive year

Auto Express magazine readers have voted the insurance provider NFU Mutual the best car insurer for the third year running.

The survey was conducted from more than 32,000 readers, included 45 insurance providers and asked respondents to rate them for communication, value for money, helpfulness and overall performance.

As well as being allocated the topspot overall, NFU Mutual was also given first place for communication and helpfulness. NFU Mutual spokesperson Paul Richardson said the insurance provider was "delighted to have achieved our hat trick". He added that customers valued "personal service, both at the time of purchase and beyond".

Drivers who personalise their cars are being warned that additional accessories may not be covered in their insurance policies . With items such as LCD monitors and DVD players being added to cars, the consumer website onlyfinance.com is advising drivers to check with their insurers to make sure their additions are covered and to consider that add-ons such as these could increase the costs of cover.
