RIAS, the over-50s insurance provider, have unveiled a new protection policy plan that will be sold on top of any car insurance taken out by consumers.
According to the insurer motorists who purchase a car insurance policy from them and in addition decide to get the excess protection policy as well, will be reimbursed for any payment over the amount over the excess should a claim be made.
The protection cover is available to all existing and new customers and will provide them with an excess amount of up to £300. The company has emphasised that the cover will not cost more than 25p extra a week.
Janet Conner, Managing Director of RIAS, said: "What makes this product so attractive to customers is that policyholders can be secure in the knowledge that they will get their excess back, even if they were responsible for the accident ."
