By getting their car insurance from the Green Insurance Company, environmentally aware drivers can choose to offset 100 per cent of their emissions .
The Green Insurance Company will offset carbon emissions by planting trees and investing in renewable sources. The company will also donate five per cent of its profits to charity and offer drivers of fuel efficient cars a low emissions five per cent discount. Drivers can also save money as the insurer is offering a 12.5 per cent discount if the insurance is purchased online.
Car owners that are concerned about the environment can help reduce their carbon footprint and still get a competitive range of cover, including third party, fire and theft or comprehensive .
The environmentally aware company also offers advice on how to be green and save money for example, by slowing down to 50 miles per hour, drivers will use around 30 per cent less fuel than when travelling at 70 miles per hour.
