A life insurance provider has lent its support to a new initiative that aims to teach children about the importance of keeping on top of their financing situation.
Standard Life, working in tandem with other partners, has unveiled the launch of On the Money, which involves teaching Scottish children aged between eight and 12 years old about the value of money.
To get the message across, four children's authors have been enlisted to create original works for the project.
Theresa Breslin, Jonathan Meres, Nicola Morgan and Alison Price have all written short stories about the importance of saving money and not borrowing too much via credit cards.
Commenting on the scheme, Anne Gunther, chief executive of Standard Life Bank, said: "We have worked with schools for over 15 years in the area of financial education but this is definitely one of the most interesting and creative projects we have been involved with to date."
In addition to life insurance protection, Standard Life also offers a variety of other financial services products.
For instance, the company sells health insurance, pensions and investments packages.
