With the new film version of the bestselling thriller The Da Vinci Code about to be released, many travellers will be keen to retrace the steps of their favourite novel, suggests an insurance provider .
American Express Insurance services surveyed a number of their travel insurance customers and found that books are often a source of inspiration for their adventurous clients.
It found that many wanted to travel to Paris, Scotland and London to visit the key sites featured in both the book and film version of the Da Vinci Code.
Other travellers cited Captain Corellis's Mandolin and the Lord of the Rings trilogy as literal works that sparked off their imagination and wanderlust.
However, the insurance company recommends that although travellers may not run into the kinds of trouble facing the characters of their favourite novel, it is wise to opt for a good travel insurance policy to cover any unforeseen accidents or illness when travelling abroad.
