A homeowners insurance provider has urged consumers about looking for a home insurance quote that is right for them.
Simon Broadley, household product manager at Yorkshire Building Society, believes that people should not just look for the cheapest deal when it comes to homeowners insurance, as there are extra details which are best suited to people in certain circumstances.
He said: "People don't look around enough. Some people have the same kind of approach they have with motor insurance, which is to find the cheapest deal.
"The risk with this approach is that you get an insurance which is not adapted to your needs."
According to the latest AA British insurance premium index, the average premium for a home contents insurance quote in the second quarter of 2006 is £1,512.83p and to insure the building, the average premium is £208.11p.
